What?

A strategic plan addresses growth, infrastructure, and community priorities. While Master Plans and DDA plans are excellent at describing all that could and should happen, a Strategic Plan states which projects are most important and what should be done first.  A strategic plan allows the Village Council, Village staff, residents, businesspeople, and developers to focus on implementation.   Over time, Village decision-makers and other stakeholders use the continuity created by an adopted strategic plan to build upon the prior thinking and momentum when making decisions.

Who?

The Village Council develops and approves the strategic plan.  The strategic plan process includes interviews with elected and appointed officials, Village staff, and other stakeholders as well as focus groups with stakeholders. Input from the community survey, pop up activities, and open houses will help shape the strategic plan.
